Despite having fewer than 500,000 residents, Fort Wayne enjoys a housing affordability advantage over all but four of the 150 most populated metro regions in the country.

Housing costs typically account for 20.55% of residents' household incomes. Nonetheless, Beaumont shrinks as more people leave the area than they move in.
