1. The Simple Path to Wealth
By: JL Collins
JL Collins does a great job in creating a road map to making yourself a wealthy life. He started off sending his daughter letters about making wealth, then turned that into a blog, and finally creating this book.
He makes investing simple and easy with the concept of index investing through Vanguard. Other companies are now offering index funds, but Vanguard was the first and still has some of the least expensive funds on the market.
Collins shares with the audience his own mistakes and how we can build from his successes to create our path to wealth. This is a book I recommend to all of my friends and family to read. It will open up your mind to make finances simple, easy, and doable.
2. Your Money or Your Life
By: Vicki Robin
This book makes you make a decision, which is more important: your money or your life.
In this world that we live in, we have choices should we spend our days, weeks, months, and years working until we are dead or should we take control of our life, and find a way to escape the mindless hours of work.
Vicki Robin gives readers a way to take control of their money and create a new life. She gives a 9-step program about creating better lives through saving money, getting out of debt, and creating opportunities out of our problems.
3. Rich Dad Poor Dad
By: Robert Kiyosaki
In this book, Robert Kiyosaki talks about how he grew up and learned about money. He had two dads in his life to teach him. There was his real dad and his childhood friend’s dad.
He learned about the differences on how people learn about money by watching how his dad dealt with money and how his wealthy friend’s dad dealt with money.
This book changed how I felt about money. It is a book that can help change your mindset about the way you think about finances.
4. I Will Teach You to be Rich
By: Ramit Sethi
Ramit Sethi created this book to help teach people to think differently.
We grow up with a mindset of do as you are told and not ask questions. It is time to think differently. This book gives you blue prints to ask for raises, get a better credit score, travel for free, and not get taken advantage of by the banking industry.
It is time to think differently. Read this book and open your mind to new possibilities and opportunities for wealth.
5. The Millionaire Next Door
By: Thomas J. Stanley
This is a great book into who really are the millionaires in the country. Oftentimes, we take a look at the cars, the houses, the clothes and assume people are rich, but if you take a look at the bank accounts you may be surprised to find that those are just people with debt, and possibly no money.
If you take a look at regular people, oftentimes you cannot tell, but they are the real millionaires in the country. This book gives an insight on how these people live, think, invest, and work for a life worth living instead of a life that looks good on the outside.
6. Quit Like a Millionaire
By: Kristy Shen
This is a book about the lessons learned from a life of growing up in extreme poverty to quitting like a millionaire at the age of 31. Through hard work, math, and determination anyone has the capacity to reach the million dollar status and quit to do travel, your passions, and to live life.
Read the story of how Kristy goes on an adventure of life as she shares with us her tips, successes, and inspiration to achieve more.
7. The Little Book of Common Sense Investing
By: John C. Bogle
John Bogle famously created Vanguard and the first Index Fund. He sought out to make investing simpler and easier for the common man to create wealth.
This book opens up your mind to how index funds function and how they beat the managerial staffs of numerous mutual funds. It is an eye-opening book that gives us the best way to invest our money. “Don’t look for the needle in the haystack, buy the haystack”
