1. A Series of Firsts
During a train ride, a lady sat next to a member and called a friend to tell them, “Hi (name). You're the first person I'm telling this to, but I got the job!” After she hung up, she’d ring another person, repeating the exact line. The woman did this 5 or 6 times before the member got off the train!
2. Pastor’s Plea
A member recalls their experience at a coffee shop near a large nondenominational church. They heard two men talking, one of whom was a pastor figure, while the other appeared to be in leadership for the youth ministry. The latter was commenting nastily on teenage girls’ photos. The pastor repeatedly told the guy that it was creepy; they told him to stop and that he was not welcome back at the church. Kudos to him for sticking up for what’s right!
3. A Bowl of Ketchup
College students are among the most intriguing species. A user recalls how they were at the campus gym and overheard one guy telling his friends, “So I went to the meal hall, filled a bowl with ketchup, wrapped it in parchment paper, and stuck it in my pocket so I could sneak it out, and brought it back to my room. Now I have a bowl of ketchup in my dorm room”. No one knows what he had planned to do with all that ketchup.
4. A Money Laundering Mystery
Sometimes, you may overhear dangerous conversations you’d want nothing to do with. A member heard two businessmen discussing money laundering in their strong New York-Italian accents over coffee. As if that wasn’t bad enough, one of the men casually remarked, “-and if John can’t deal with that fact, I will personally gouge his eyes out. With pleasure.”
5. More Than Just Dead Headphones
Here’s a reminder of why you should never let your earphones run out of charge. After their earphones died, a user at a bus stop overheard a lady on the phone. “It sounded like they were planning on how to get rid of a body before it started to smell.”
Another member replies, “Hopefully, they were talking about an animal. I had a similar conversation once about a possum that died under my deck.”
6. Lyrical Masterpiece
Here’s a silly antic to lighten things up. A person was in a bathroom stall and heard two teen girls primping in the mirror. One of the girls was singing, “You and me, baby, ain't nothin' but mammals,” and was claiming to have invented it on the spot. Her friend laughed at how hilarious and clever she was. It’s always a pleasure to hear folks talking about something that excites them. At a coffee shop one morning, a person heard two older men behind them discussing Lawrence of Arabia (1962). Both had watched it the night before and had come to discuss it. One even had four pages of written-out notes!

One person overheard two women gossip about a popular bachelorette from their hometown who went on The Bachelorette. The women trash-talked her while dissecting her “lies” in her recently published book. “I lost it when they started angrily talking about how she lied about her pageant talent from when she did pageant shows.”
