For millions of men and women, there's nothing more exciting than seeing all the sights the world offers. However, not all destinations are created equal! Recently, experienced travelers met in an online discussion to reveal all the places they confess they will never travel to. They cited reasons ranging from safety concerns to inconvenience —– and everything in between!

1. Egypt

Unfortunately, Egypt has garnered a reputation recently for being unsafe for foreign travelers — especially women. Petty crimes like pickpocketing are rising, while more severe infractions like kidnapping, assault, and burglary have also increased. Many travelers explain that not even the allure of seeing the pyramids can make them get on a plane to Egypt.

2. Mount Everest

Not long ago, climbing Mount Everest was a bucket list item for many adventurers. Today, undertaking a climb like Everest has seemingly gone out of style. “I understand why some people want to, but even if I had eternal life, I can't imagine wanting to spend any of it climbing a freezing cold mountain just to say I'd been to the highest point on Earth,” admits one woman.

3. Coachella Music Festival

In recent years, Coachella has transformed from an eccentric and focused music festival into something most people say they will never attend. However, feel free to attend Coachella if you're a fan of sky-high ticket prices, overpriced amenities, and thousands of wannabe influencers taking selfies of themselves constantly. Sadly, attending Coachella just isn't worth it anymore.

4. Back to Your Old High School

For countless people, high school memories are better off left in the past. Navigating your teenage years is hard enough; why would someone want to re-live those days by entering their old high school? In fact, many people live long enough to see their high school be demolished, a satisfaction I can only dream about.

5. Somalia

Here's one way to identify places you should never travel to under any conditions: If the United States travel advisory for that country reads like nightmare fuel! “The U.S. travel advisory for Somalia is one of the more amusing ones, including things like, “Have a designated contact for hostage negotiations' and ‘Notify next of kin of your travel plans if a body needs to be sent,'” reveals one seasoned traveler.

6. Times Square During New Year's Eve

Although thousands pack themselves into Times Square every New Year's Eve to watch the ball drop, nearly all participants report they wish they hadn't done so. Standing shoulder-to-shoulder for hours outside in winter with nowhere to use the bathroom is probably the 200th-best way to ring in the new year! People who have never gone to Times Square during New Year's Eve reveal they probably will never make the trek.

7. Dubai

Dubai is a futuristic and luxurious metropolis built off slave labor, meaning most people say they'll never visit for ethical reasons. However, Dubai still enjoys a fair share of tourism. “There's a certain sort of person that vacations in Dubai,” one man slyly explains. “Not saying they're wrong to do so, and I hope they enjoy it. Most people I know who go seem to enjoy it. But, it is always a certain sort.”

8. Underwater Caves

Like climbing Mount Everest, exploring deep-sea underwater caves is too risky for most people. Plenty of things can go wrong, and an exciting underwater exploration can quickly turn into a tragedy — people are more risk-averse these days, and I don't blame them! We should all stay away from the highest peaks and the darkest caves.

9. Las Vegas

For countless travelers, the glitz, glamor, and excess of Las Vegas is something they have no interest in experiencing. “I have no desire whatsoever to go to Las Vegas, especially the touristy part,” confesses one man. “It seems like an absolute garbage town. I can gamble and drink somewhere else. Everybody there seems like the worst sort of people, and everything is remarkably overpriced and sketchy.”

10. Disney World

Most people work very hard for their money, so most wouldn't want to throw it all away on an overhyped theme park! Although diehards swear by their annual Disney World visits, it comes at a price: it costs an arm and a leg. Adding the packed crowds and expensive food and beverage options is a no-brainer for savvy consumers: visiting Disney World will never be on the agenda.
